The @theACES Retro Gaming Machine isn't simply a memory card filled with thousands of files.

The system has been configured and refined to provide a straightforward controller-first gaming experience.

Emulator settings, controller layouts, menus and game libraries are configured before the machine reaches you, with individual settings used where required to improve compatibility and performance.

Games are presented through an organised interface with artwork and game information, making it easy to browse your collection and discover old favourites.

Some of the more demanding systems — particularly Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and PSP — can require different emulator settings from game to game. Where appropriate, these have been configured individually to get the best practical experience from the Raspberry Pi 5.

The aim is simple: spend less time configuring and more time playing.

At the heart of the @theACES Retro Gaming Machine is the Raspberry Pi 5.

Its extra processing power allows the system to comfortably handle generations of classic gaming while also providing the performance needed for more demanding emulation including:

Nintendo 64 • Dreamcast • PSP • PlayStation • Arcade

Earlier systems including Nintendo, Sega, Atari, Commodore, Amiga and classic arcade platforms run alongside them in one easy-to-use gaming system.

Menus remain quick and responsive, games load rapidly and the system has enough performance headroom to use enhanced emulator settings where appropriate.
